Extruder – for dry extrusion of soybeans

EXTRUDER ED - ED 30, ED 55, ED 70

The ED extruder is designed for processing grain, corn, soybean or pre-prepared feed mixtures into high quality feed for livestock nutrition (extruded soybean, dog food, cat food, etc.).

The ED extruder is mainly intended for soybean steaming, as beans from commonly known soybean species are unusable for direct consumption.

In order to eliminate these negative characteristics of soybeans, the beans are subjected to high pressure and temperature in an extruder, which gelatinises the starch, denaturing the protein. As the pressure drops, the water content is reduced. The resulting product is an easily digestible extrudate, heat- and pressure-treated.

Technological procedure of extruder work

The ED extruder works on the principle of dry extrusion, which does not require any pre-treatment of the processed material (steam supply), which reduces the cost of the production process. The material to be processed is fed via a hopper and a manually operated gate into a frequency-controlled screw conveyor.

By means of a dosing conveyor we control the amount of material entering the working part of the extruder through a hopper equipped with a permanent magnet. In the working section, the material is fed by screw screws of different pitches through the feed sleeves and pressure rings to the end section, which is equipped with a nozzle end with replaceable nozzle. As the material passes through the working section, it is rubbed under pressure to achieve the desired temperature. This can be controlled by moving the nozzle end section. The extruder can be equipped with a cutting device for the creation of shaped feeds.
